lower control arm

lower control arm

just got back from the stealership for an oil change. they did one of their "free" inspections, and then tell me that my lower right control arm is about to break or something like that. i ask how much it is to correct the problem and they're like 200 for the part and another 200 for the labor.

someone please tell me I have another option

The accuracy of the answers is based upon the information submitted...

If it actually is the control arm (which I doubt unless you had an accident) you better fix it.

I think they may be talking about the CV joint/boot...

Get a second opinion and if it is indeed messed up I would recomend gettin the control arm used or from an online Nissan parts store. I think they go for $120 or so. Then take the part into an independant mechanic for the work, not the dealership.
