need help! "clunking" sound from rear suspension after maxspeed + tokico...

first of all, i wanna thank regime (aka daniel) for helping me installing the suspension. we finished it in 3 hours with his air tool. he showed me a lot of stuff, like how to work with spring compressor and air tools properly, and also gave me the opperutnity to let me try it out. i learned a lot today.

problem #1:
as i go over medium size bump at regular speed, i can hear my rear suspension go "clunK!", at a point it made a SUPER LOUD "clunk!" noise. what is up with that?

problem #2:
also when i'm just driving 70mph, i can often feel my rear tires are losing control, the steering is very sloppy and inaccurate, could that cause the rear to sway like that? (this is before my alignment. i am getting one done tomorrow. i am just curious if that's the cause of this problem)

please help me...thx

I'm guessing you didn't get an allignment so that expalins the loose tires. As the clank, I have the same thing and I'm guessing it's just the bump-stops.

I don't think it's the bumpstops. It most likely an install problem. Check all bolts, and disassemble if you have to.

I had the same thing happen to me when we did my install and it got dark...we accidentally left a bushing out of the rear strut assembly. Double check and be sure that everything is tightened down and that you have nothing important left over. Remove your trunk liner and "bounce" the car- check for movement of the rear mounts or the sassemble within the mounts.

i agree

sounds like you need to go over the installation make sure everything in instaled properly and everything is tightened. Did you cut the bumpstop? it shouldnt cause a clunk noise but i would help with suspension travel. dont forget your alignment...

Make sure your spring is seated properly. I had the clunking noise because one of the rear ones wasn't installed correctly. This caused the spring to "twist" an inch.

Good point- be sure that eaxh spring is clocked correctly in its perch.

same thing happened to me. check your bushing thats what the problem was in my case. bounce the rear of car and if you see the C shaped cup loose or separating from the rest of the shock assy... get a bushing on it. good luck
