I am trying to bleed my brakes but nothing is coming out not even air im just wondering how i can fix this?the mas cyl is full and im trying to bleed from the right rear.It all started yeaserday when i but in a new spindle on and drove it for about 15 min then the brake pedal went all the way down.so i parked it and tryied to bleed them and nothing is happing need help!!

 

Are you loosening the bleeder valve enough? Do the rear calipers clamp down on the rotors when you push the pedal down? Are any other bleeder valves open while you're bleeding? Are the calipers and everything properly installed ON the car while you're trying to bleed the brakes?

 

yes the i opened the bleeder valve all the way,the rear calipers (pads) only hit the rotor when i pull the hand brake,no there are no other valves open when i do one,and yes every thing is installed right on the car.But i just installed a abs spindle on my right front side in which i don't have abs,some say this didn't matter.

 

With ABS you're supposed to bleed the rear driver side wheel first right? Either way there should be fluid coming out. Open the bleeder valve and start pumping the pedal like crazy. If the pedal doesn't make the pads grip the rotors then you need to check out the calipers. Also, the emergency brake has nothing to do with brake fluid since it uses the cable.

 

well i pulled out the capiler and the piston goes in when i use the piston tool but the rubber around doesnt want to go in as far as the piston is this a problem

 

No it's supposed to stick out a bit more than the piston. If you have the piston out of the bracket but still connected to the brake line, step on the brake bedal a bit but not too much. See if the piston goes out at all.

 

i just tryied and it didn't move what does that mean?

 

You could have air in the master cylinder...that would require bleeding the master cylinder.

Dumb question, but...are there any leaks?

 

your proportioning valve is probably stuck. Try opening the left front bleeder and then have somebody press the brake pedal, as soon as you see fluid starting to come out close the bleeder then try to normally bleed the rear brakes and hopefully it will free up the valve try it a few times if it doesnt work some times it takes a little bit
