Cel: 0505, Wtf?

last nite i got a CEL. so this morning i checked it and got 0505. i was like "uh... okie." so i started the car, realized the car's ignition got better, throttle was more responsive, but there was no problem with my car at all. i just got kinda confussed why the heck it even wanted me to check at first place

now i reset my ECU, it'll have to take time to learn the way i drive all over again

It just wanted to let you know it was doing okay. It probably just wanted some attention.

i got that once too... the good folks here indicated that maybe i might've accidentally reset the CEL trying to get the code.

i guess 05-05 = it's all good, baby...

lol, i know that all to well...buddy had a 70s porsche and a horrible boxy alpha romeo. the porsche tripped "scheduled matinence" lights, that would stay on until the porsche factory reset the light, never found a way around it. while the alpha had a light for everything, even brake wear, air intake tempurature, and a tire air pressure meter for each tire...that never worked. i was hoping our max behaved better than that

I just got a 0505 w/ TCS & SLIP light all on at the same time, it scared me a little I thought I broke the tranny. Reset the car and TCS works again. I hope its not knock sensor or something

anyone else with a 99 get 0505?

0505 could only mean 1 thing. and that would be:
