No more 4x4

I'm tired of the 4x4 look. I want to start buying the parts I need to drop my car. I'm pretty much set on H&R springs, but the struts are what I'm stuck on. I want to get adjustable struts, but I know that I'm not going to adjust them once they're set. I was looking at the Tokico Illuminas and the KYB AGXes. I'm told that the tokicos ride better, but they also cost more. When I look at the KYBs I plan on setting them to 2/4, which I am told is about the setting for the GR2s. So my question is are adjustable struts really worth it? How many of you guys actually adjust the stiffness after they've been set?

rule of thumb: you get what you paid.

IMO, for street application, get non-adjustable shocks. for race application, get adjustable shocks.

Adjustables are worth it in my opinion.
I usually Adjust the front ones all the time when I go to the track. Adjusting them to the highest setting helps me get rid of the horrible wheelhop. on long drives I adjust them to a softer setting, just so the ride is more confortable for that long period of time, And if I happen to drive on a road with lots of dangerous twisties, then I higher setting will give me much better handling.
The illuminas are worth those extra 100 bucks.

btw anybody happen to know which setting on tokico illuminas is the same as tokico HP? since kyb agx has 2/4 as the same spec as GR2s, i wonder if tokico does the same as well.

The Illuminas are definitely worth it! I run H&Rs with Illuminas and they're great, adjusting them is fun. But...it doesnt wear them out does it?

i dont think they are nearly the same. the illumina's have rebound control settings built into the adjustments. i believe these are the only non coilover, semi-affordable struts for our care that have this function if IIRC, the hp's aren't even comparable really.
