Hot A/c

well summer is creepy up on me here in housotn TX and its getting very hot already. my AC is kinda warm, warm enough so that it doesnt help me any during the day, i would rather just stick my head out the window like that the movie ace ventura did in that first movie. anyways all i can tell you is that every once and a while, like every twenty minutes it makes like a "shhhhhhhhhh" sound when i turn it on and then randomly after that. What am i to do, do i just change the AC cooler thingy that they sell at AUTO ZONE or wha. the AC works kinda OK at night, not great nor decent.

Did you try recharging the a/c? You could be out or low on refrigerant. Just go to pep boys or auto zone and buy a basic 134a recharge kit.
