new engine?

i have a 96 gle, with 160k miles. thinking about getting a 02 vw30de engine, the one with 222hp. i know the engine is pretty good, but after 160K miles, and no performance parts, should i just get a engine, and then mod it? or rebuild my eninge and then mod it? the extra ponies would be nice with the newer engine. and would could push more psi with a supercharger. what do yall think?

ugh...first of all...

1. it's actually 2000-2001
2. the engine code is VQ30DE-K, not vw30de

with enough $$, anything is possible. if you have enough $$ then sure go for it...i don't see why not

it depends on how much speed you want to get out of your car. If funds aren't an issue, and if you want some nice HP, go for the 00/01 engine, though if you are just looking for a lil more power than you have now, just get an intake/ypipe/catback and call it a day.
