Just picked up Springs, what tips do you have for the install?
I just picked up progress springs, and i wanna install them on my stock struts for now. I'm planning to by those Illuminas in a couple of months and I don't mind doing the install twice. so what tips do you guys have that will make the install easier and quicker?
oh ya, i can't seem to find that site where it shows you how to install spring, does anyone have it?
I can't wait to get them on!!!!!!

You really don't want to wait? Cuz it's a 2-4 hour project depending on how mechanically inclined you are...but if you have access to a lift with the center lift (I hope that made sense) it will be a lot easier...also use a wall mounted spring compressor if possible...the manual ones are a biatch to use and a little more dangerous.
Yeah have a BBQ ready ;-) Your gonna need the food!!
You should just wait for the illuminas, chances are your stock struts could already be blown and you not know it... mine were when I took them off and I didnt even know! Your cars 3 years younger than mine but you never know...

Tip #1: If you use a little spring compressor - don't EVAR put your face over the top of it. Assume at all times, that it is a loaded weapon capable of going off at any time and killing you. I have seen the results of one breaking and seen another break in person.
Other than that, there really isn't much to it... couple of guys can knock it out in about 2 hours. Took me and a buddy two and half with smoke breaks, and that was our first time with a Max.

1. Go to the autoshop
(I think they charge like 50-100 per spring =/ pretty steep)
OR get help from local org member or a friend who knows how to change springs.
2. You can shoot the springs in between tires and have people stand on tire.
(can be safe if done correctly, this is what I did and it only took me 50min to do it. Because the Maxima design is extremely simple compared to these two 95 integras that we've done "b!tches")
3. You can get rent a spring compressor or so and do it.
(if it is not a weak compressor you're safe)
4. You can get spring clamps and see how does that goes
(doesn't look to safe, but never tried it)
Good luck!

If you do the install twice like you're saying, you'll learn a lot about the way it goes together. During the first install you could find out for sure what all should be replaced the second time (balljoints, bushings, mounts, strut bearings, boots, spring isolators, endlinks). Most guys wouldn't bother, but if you have the time, go for it.

Yea, the spring clamps or like normal clamps but are made to securley clamp the perimeter of the coil. It is just so when you take off the main nut the spring won't shoot. You can remove it safely and since the lowering springs are compressed already just slap them on and you can just press down from the top to reapply the main nut.
