Might be able to get a rough estimate by checking the BB value....

I checked the KBB but man what does that mean........just cause KBB says that doesn't cover every aspects of a car. Just trying to be realistic with private car purchases and not the "political correct" way of doing it. I've sold cars under KBB just cause that's how it goes man...just trying to be fair and realistic....kelly can say almost 12 and if that's the case i'll get a 97 or so. But thanks for your response

$9200 is a fair price depending on where you are located. I'm in MA and when i was looking for my max, you couldn't even touch a 97 se for under $13,000.. even with high milage. This was 1 year ago, but i haven't seen a great drop in prices lately. If you're down south, i think the prices will be lower on these cars, as prices are lower on everything there too.
few things to remember
1. condition of the car helps out a lot. I would spend a lot more money if the car is in perfect condition inside and out. spend a few bucks to get a carfax report. Ask to see repair/maitenence records. Mileage can be a bad indicator anyways. Those 80k can be pampered or pounded miles. My friend picked up a miata with a 3" binder book showing EVERY single repair or mailer from mazda. That is immaculate records and it helps especially when it breaks down.
2. Tip on negotiations ALWAYS start low and work my way up to find a mid point.
3. I find 9k a little on the high side if the condition is fair. 9k if the car is in great condition may work...and 9k on a beater max is high.
just my .02
