I was just asking b/c my neighbor does A LOT of welding and other various metal work; and I have some extra exhaust pipe laying around from "other" projects. Why spend $160 on a piece of metal? When you get down to it all exhaust systems are basically the same; some are "rigged up", some are bought cheap, and some are name brand expensive.

And banana, shut up

Well, if you ever wanted or needed to go back to stock, you'd be screwed. OEM Y-pipes are over $1000 from Nissan.

I made a custom Y-pipe for my maxima. In my opinion it actually turned out better then most of the pre-fabbed items I have seen. Infact instead of 2" piping I'm using 2-1/2" from the flanges to the a 3" flex pipe. My entire exhaust system is 3" from the flex pipe to the exhaust tip. I works really good and all together it only cost me about $80 dollars to complete the project. I haven't have any problems with rattle's, leaks, anything. All I noticed was alot more pull throughout the RPM range?
