I have an adjustable STS, I believe it's a Pacesetter, it came with the car. I don't like the Pacesetter name, but I love this shifter so much. It's set to its shortest throw setting, which also makes it short (not sticking up out of the console like the stock one). Yes the shifting takes more effort, but I'm so used to it. I can't stand the slop of many stock shifters and this gets rid of it entirely. Even though it's notchy and sometimes you need to fight it, I would recomend one.

i have a b & m sts and i love it! I drove my dads 98 maxima this weekend and I could not believe the difference between the shifers. His sucked ***! The stick felt so tall! I will never go back! I <3 it! I paid 135 from a GD off of tokio during the summer. I would reccomend installing it yourself. Great expierence. I got lucky and installed my Y Pipe and high performance cat converter at the same time. Good luck!

i've got a b&m too, i love it and live by it. installation is super easy, and should only take around 1-2 hours depending on mechanical aptitude. i got mine for 135 dollars from southwest auto works. seriously one of the best things i've done to my car.

How close to stock is the Highest setting on an adjustable one? Just in case I find it gets harder in the winter etc.

I have the stillen STS. This was one of my first mods that i got for the maxima. I love the short throw that comes with the shifter. It's alot shorter than the stock shifter. The height however is the same as the stock shifter. You wouldn't know it was there unless i told you or you drove it.

The stillen shifter is great but unfortunately it is a little notchy and does not feel like a smooth shift. There are times that it takes some strength to get into first or reverse. Overall (from a scale of 1-10) i would rate this a 6 1/2.

Get the Cosmo racing STS, Hahaha...
Really though, its cheap and it works. You can definately tell the difference in throw when you step into another Max. I wouldn't say it's the "best" mod, but it's definitely an addition worth having.

YEs. It is great! Adjustable and feels awesome. Shifts smooth after the bushings break in.

thanks alot, I figured since I got in on the group deal for shift and ebrake boots, I should just do the sts at the same time, im really sick of the stocks sloppy feel. My neon that I had before the max had a much better feel after I put shifter bushings on it.
