I repaired my car and the mechanic said that the check engine light was on because the Evap breather valve has a problem and he has to replace that. He mentioned that this is something related to saving the feul.

I was wondering does any of you have any idea what this valve does?

Thanks

My memory is a bit vague on this now, but I think its the valve that helps to vent fumes from your gas tank. You'll find it next to the charcoal canister which is under your left rear wheel. Since this is an emissions part, any defect is covered by a FEDERAL, not Nissan, warranty. That Federal warranty covers any car for 3 years or 50K miles, be it a Ford, Mercedes, Nissan etc. It happened to me, and Nissan refunded me the total cost. Its no biggie, just annoying like a bug making your check engine light stay on..
