Nice..

thats the first time i've seen the intake done like that. did you just figure it out or am i really really slow? does it stay on good? it seems like the gold piece is to small to hold it firmly but i really cant see it in the pics. i will probably be doing this tomorrow.

o yeah, was that sensor that you tied up, was that from the very bottom of the "ram air" thing? if it is, can you explain what you did there?

Thanks Steve

To the guy with the question about the intake staying on.

Well I thought that fabrication up when I installed that same cone on my maxima before I got the CAI. I just decided to give it to my friend to help him out. I was dressed in a suit and tie so I just supervised and took pics. Normally I'm the one getting my hands dirty.

Anyways, I haven't had any problems with it falling off. I only ran it for like 3 weeks. The gold piece fits into the rubber around the cone so tightly so it's not too big of a concern about falling out. That and in addition to the duct tape. I wouldn't worry about it. Definately the best performance mod for the money. Total cost is liek $20 for the filter. I really don't feel a difference between gains from the cai and that setup.

Some shop sold it. The brand is generic I don't remember but it was $20. Almost any import performance chop will have something similar.

Well I find it necessary when your ECU throws a code. Let's just say your MAF Sensor goes crazy cause your intake busts a vacuum leak. Well it's obvious that you fixed the problem, but the damn Check Engine Light stays on. This will fix that. Some people like to do it after every modification, but I don't think that's entirely necessary.

By the way the cheap filter can be found here:

http://response.simplenet.com

It's the $19.99 3" Air Filter
