bought some GUTTER GUARD from Home Depot to make myself a GRILLE!

hey guys i just bought some GUTTER Gaurd from home depot to make my grille....and the material is aluminum...i plan on spray painting it so it doesnt rust as fast....anyone have any suggestions on what paint i should use>>>

Unless you want it a different color, all you need is clearcoat. A couple coats of that will prevent rust. If you paint it a different color, then put the clearcoat on top of the paint (same process).

i used rustoleum aluminum finish spray paint, been a month and a half, no rust at all yet, cost $2.50 its got a better shine than the mesh does, so i stuck with it

I sprayed mine with black paint so people wouldnt see it. Shiny gutter guard grilles are so tacky...imo anyway.

if i want the grille to be Chrome...would i need to spray anything on before and after the CHROME spray paint???

nah, chrome paint would stick to it... you COULD use primer, but you wouldn't have to... just spray the chrome paint then clear coat it...

I also made my grille out of a gutter guard but I sanded down the whole thing with a very fine sandpaper since I couldn't find primer at my house. Topped it with black spraypaint and another layer of clear coat and it's been doing great..
