Morning Starting Trouble

I was having trouble starting my 97 Maxima in the morning after it had been sitting all night. It would crank but not start up. I replaced the battery (it was 7 years old). It started better for a couple of days but now it is having trouble again. My alternator was checked and deemed ok. It was replaced in the recall 8 months ago. I only have the trouble if it has been sitting for a long time. Can anyone help me with this?

is it cold up where u are, if it is, thats the problem. after our terribly long winter in NJ, i had a few days where it took 2-3 tries to get my car started from the cold. if its cold, thats the problem, otherwise i dunno

this may sound crazy, but i was having a starting problem everytime my engine got cold.. so i would have to crank it up a few times with sometimes having to press the gas to get it to start. i had a new battery so i knew that wasn't the problem.. so i decided to check the fuses under the dash and sure enough the "start ing" fuse 7.5A i believe was blown.. i changed it out for a new one and everything has been fine at start up now.

I sometimes have the same problem starting my 97. Just happened on Saturday morning and it wasn't really cold at all. I'll have to check my fuse and get back to you, great call, thanks.

I just checked the fuse and it was fine. It hasn't been cold here so I don't think that is the problem. If it is the starter, wouldn't it have trouble all the time, not just after long periods of rest (i.e., overnight)?
