Antenna Help

Has anyone else has problems with the power antenna. I am not sure if its worth the hassle of replacing it since the radio stations in Upstate NY leave something to be desired. I took it apart to see if i could just replace the antenna mast and the inside of the motor was all corroded. I had a "friend" who sold me a "replacement" antenna for the car but its a piece of junk, it would only go up, but wouldnt come back down when the radio was turned off... also the antenna didnt plug in at all, so i am left with a 30 dollar piece of junk.... does anyone know where i can get an oem replacement so i dont have to mess with rewiring etc etc?

thanks for your help

ebay $20 max for a replacement mast, you need 2 peopel to install it, the teeth will face the back of the car, someoen will press power and you will push the mast into the hole to allow the motor to retract the cable. the teeth on the mast cable yoru firned gave you mustve been stripped

I broke my antenna a month ago i know i know.... but well my question is how much it cost to replace the antenna? Cause now, the antenna won't fully go back down...and doesn't even go fully go up. So I was thinking was maybe buying a new antenna (how much and where?) or trying to push it down all the way and make it so it won't come up when I turn the radio on (but how?).

Correction

I think someone misunderstood my post. I took apart the motor for the antenna and it was all corroded inside, replacing the mast is not an option, the whole unit is shot. I do not listen to the radio enough to make 120 bucks worth it so the dealer is out... i have tried junk yards for months now, with no luck. My next step is shady, so im trying to avoid it
