Types Of Intake.....

I have a 96 Max and previously purchased an ebay intake...just some generic one to gain some horsepower, and improve the sound. That was when I didn't know much about the Maxima. Now I am starting to learn more and more about it, and I don't want to treat it with just some generic short ram intake. If anyone has some ideas of what I should go with or have had the best experience with, it would be greatly appriciated. Thanks.

Here is a good post that shows the various locations of different intakes and their corresponding temps.

One thing I have done before on my friends Benz and WRX was gut out the intake box with a sawzall or you can use a dremil, remove the intake “condom” (the thing that leads into the fender for most cars” and put a K&N drop-in filter. They sound like they have an intake system in them and all it cost was the price of the drop-in and about 20 min or so. Anyway, the chrome pipe always gets really hot when the car is running yet the stock stuff doesnt.

I had the blitz drop in filter and now switched to an Injen CAI. I think it was definately worth the money. Sounds great and pulls hard on mid-range. Got pics of it on my page.
