Max vs. Prelude interesting.

i was browsing through the net, and i found this forum about maxima's and preludes.

http://www.automotiveforums.com/t11823.html

interesting to see how many different opinions there are for our cars and how many people do know that maxima's arent slow at all.
i read the whole thing, pretty entertaining. now i can say that we own preludes. =)

I read the whole thing as well, i found it interesting when other people talk about our cars. i especially liked this post by JBL85, it reads.....

"Slow automatic? First off....yeah Maxima isnt the best, but it kicks a$$

THe look on Honda Drivers faces when they see they got beat by the

same car their grandma has.....PRICELESS...

Maxima is just an overall good, cool, sweet car and look very nice moded. THe 5speed wont pull ahead on a Prelude, it will flat out smoke it, thats the why the Maxima's competition is the 3 series bmw and use to be 5 series competition...i dont know about now...."

i drive an auto 98, my cousin got a auto 92 luder, not sure what kind but he couldn't keep up. (we were stock when this happened). As far as a manual luder i think it will be close.

Welll i have owned 2 Preludes. AN 87 and an 89. LOVE the cars.... handled awesome and was peppy for my High School needs. I know a good amount about all 5 generations of the car and can say I am sad to see it gone. Don't get me wrong, i love my Maxima. 97+ Preludes aren't "light" so to speak either as i read in that post. They weight 3000 lbs. Thats about the same as the Maxima. The 92 you speak of could of had the 135 HP version in the "S" or the SI which has 160 HP.

im not concerned w/ what others think but it does p1$$ me off when people act like they know more about my car than me.
About a mointh ago I was at a light next to a spanish dude w/ glass earings the size of quarters drivin a lowered lude w/ a huge cannon and he says "max's are good for high 16s stock" we floored it and I was about 10 car lengths ahead of him when I let off, he looked/sounded fast but was not.
-another time I was w/ my friend in his 5spd lude and a redneck in a jacked up truck w/ knobby tires was revvin on him, they went at it and my friend barely won and was a good driver. Im sure many lude owners have stories about slow max's too so who cares. atleast we look good being slow
