Everything that Rowan said. Some people have trouble with hitting the shifter trim in 1,3,and 5. I don't have this problem. I love my B&M. Go for it.

WOW really into the stillen,eh? I have the same thing but the notchiness in the STS sucks goat utters.

Other than that stillen does have a shorter throw than B&M. Something like 60%...

redline MT 90 helps reduce the notchiness.

no one has supported the pace setter, so i guess i will, jjust ordereed mine a couple of days ago for 75, around 85 shipped, a lot cheaper than stillen or B&M
BTW, the lowest B&M shifter price i came across was about 130, but i don't remember the website, but here is one for 135, not shipped...

Would you B&M owners say the shift-throw reduction (supposedly 40%) is "just right"? The only reason I was considering a Pacesetter was its adjustability, but 40% sounds good to me and having to futz around with the Pacesetter's settings might be more trouble than it's worth anyway.

I think I'm going to order a B&M

I have felt a b&m shifter, and I did't like it one bit. Gears are hard to find, and hard to get into. I would be afraid of trying to shift quickly, and missing or breaking a gear. Now that would suck.

Do you have a STS on your car? Because any STS is going to feel bad, stiff, hard to shift if you're used to stock. The question at hand is, for those who have a STS and use it everyday, are you happy with that particular STS?

I got the pacesetter, its definetely notchier than stock. But then again you dont feel like you're rowing a boat. Also, the pivot ball was way too big when I installed it, I had to buy a dremel and sand it down like crazy. But overall its a decent STS.

Yeah I have a Stillen STS, and compared B&M the stillen one has way better feel and throws. It doesn't take that much force to put into gears, unlike the b&m.

You're ignoring a variable here: the B&M was on someone else's car while the Stillen is on your car, which you're used to. Their transmission was different and their transmission fluid may have been different. The Stillen has a 60% shift reduction while the B&M has only a 40% shift reduction, I've read. So it makes no sense to me that the Stillen would take less force to shift....

Thanks for the input.

I have the stillen also and I like it. Yes it is expensive compared to others but I have no complaints. My last Max had the stillen and now my new one has it too.

I went with B&M because I heard of quality issues with the Stillen, plus I think it was more expensive. Sure my B&M is notchy, even with Amsoil synthetic fluid, but driving around with the stock shifter is crazy. I can't comment on the Stillen's feel, but I would guess B&M would be a little smoother. Who knows....

I know for a fact the fluid was the same, as well as the trans. Also if you notice the b&m is a very short shifter height wise. The stillen one is stock sized (height), so you have more levarge with the stillen. The B&M is shorter so it takes more force to move it through the gears.

Quality issues? I have only heard of 1 in the past year. I have not had any problem with my stillen sts since I installed it a year ago.

I have tried the Pacesetter, and the Stillen is decidedly better. It is a hefty, quality part. The throws are short AND it is not a workout to shift. Mainly, this is becuase the shifter is close to stock height while other shifters are shorter. I would definitely recommend the Stillen to anyone.
