my check engene light is not on, and i heard that a bad knock sensor would not trigger the light, so my question is, if i will check for codes? will it give me a code of a bad KS? or else, how do i know if it's gone bad or not?

I am just wondering, if my car can go faster, because i bought a car used and the KS might have been dead already... never driven other maximas
