Just got vb mod done today

Just got it done today at Jeffs shop. Maximum tuning in Glen Cove NY. I have to say it was awesome service. In and out in less than 2 hours. First impressions....1-2 shift can be hard as hell depending how you use the throttle. Go easy and it isnt bad....get on it hard and it isnt bad...half throttle and it will shift hard. The rest of the shifts are mint. No delay whatsoever and it feels like it helps out the hesitation when you dont completely stop for a stop sign. Only one question i had was 4th gear(OD) wasnt supposed to be changed yet i feel my car going into OD almost as much as the 1-2 shift at times. Just wondering if anyone else felt this. I have the new version of his VB which i thought was supposed to increase the 1-2 and 2-3 but i dont remember hear about 3-4(od). Maybe the new solenoids need time to break in...I dont really know. Either way it shifts nice and fast. Well worth the money.

i believe you mean from 4-3 on OD...Overdrive ON is the normal driving scenario where u have your 4th gear available, overdrive OFF means downshifiting from 4th to 3rd (shutting off 4th gear), hence higher RPM jump in seconds...from wut i see, it is a faster downshift with the VB mod than without, but i dunno if das just in my head
well glad to hear u like the VB, have fun...after a while u'll only like if you're going WOT and can chirp second

it definatly downshifts faster from what i can feel. Well basically and easier way to put it is if your in 3rd gear with OD off and you turn it on to go into OD you can sometimes really feel it go into gear where as before i never felt when it went into OD. I always drive with OD but i thought that might have been an easier way to describe it

any chance a aftermarket set of tranny mounts can solve the rough 1-2 shift? I dont think any exist but it would be nice.

yeah not too bad for a car with 129k miles on it now....of course i still wanna know if anyone ever experiences a somewhat hard 3-4 shift at times. It doesnt happen all the time but every once in a while i feel it. Just wondering if it was normal but no one seems to know. Thanks

Hey 97MaximaSE,

The OBX catback has nice deep tone to it and is not loud w/ the resonator on. With the resonator off is another story. It is way too loud for my taste. Overall, I am very satisfied w/ it. Take care.

Does anyone else with this mod feel that when the car warms up to operating temp the shifts are noticeably harder then when cold?
