ECU code help

I went to start my 99 Maxima today and all it did was sputter a few times and then die. It acted sorta like the time I tried to start it with a copy of my key.(Before I knew about the security chip thing) I got the codes from the ECU but now I am confused. I am fairly sure I am reading them correctly but the codes I got apparently dont exist. I came up with 14 01 and 14 02, can anyone help me make sense of this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's long first then short. You probably got 01 14 and 02 14. Here's the decoder link http://vbxmaxima.8m.com/ecudecoder.html.

Go to autozone, borrow the ODB2 reader and double check your codes. You can also get the book Haynes and have there all the codes explained. Code 0214 is "EVAP canister purge volume control valve or circuit fault".
Good luck

The nearest autozone is 2 1/2 hours away from here. I checked the codes again and that is what it is.(14 01, 14 02) 01 14 is not even a code so that cant be it. This problem is really starting to **** me off. Thanks for the help, any other ideas?

Haynes book, page 6-8. Code 0214 corresponds to the ODB2 reader code P1444. I am sorry to hear that autozone is that far away. I just find it handy to double check the codes.

I couldn't find any codes starting with 14xx. I am kind of stuck. Maybe the pros from this forum come with other ideas.
