What is the performance difference between cat back exaust and a new muffler and tip? Also what is the sound difference?

 

i think with a cat back u get my HP gain and louder sound...... muffler has lower gains and a quieter...but still pretty loud sound...... i think u lose some low end torque with either one... so im not sure

 

New muffler alone will not give anymore h.p. than stock. Cat-back should yield about 5-8 h.p. Not very noticeable by itself. Sound all depends on the exhaust system you choose. I have a GReddy and really couldn't hear it while driving because my Stillen intake is so loud. I can hear a low rumble at idle. It sounds good. Now I have a y-pipe and that is just as loud as the intake, but honestly my radio nearly drowns out both. I really like the rumlbe it puts out now.

 

u'll probably lose low end on the exhaust but gain high end. just a muffler. u'll still have some low end and gaine some high end. tip.. just for looks

 

So do you guys think cat back is worth it?

 

I like mine (GReddy). If did it over again, I may look into a custom system only because it could be done cheaper.
