clock goes out all the time, resets itself...

My clock in my 98se has been acting really strange lately. It will turn off entirely, and if I tap it it will come back on. Sometimes, it won't turn off but reset itself to 1:00, over and over again. Could this be caused by a loose wire or something, or is the clock itself going bad? Can I buy a replacement from the dealer? If so, any idea how much it would be?

Thanks guys.

my buddy had that happen on his 3rd gen but i don't know what the problem was, sorry.

sounds to me though like a loose wire, check it out and make sure it's plugged in all the way. easy enough...

don't think about the dealer for that, unless you plan on buying some ky first...i'd check here for a used one or at a junkyard or ebay if it's the actual clock. definately check the harness to see if it might be not completely in.

Mine too. It first started happening when I first bought the car. I would tap it and it would work. It has now only worked about 5 times. Never comes back on.
