steering wheel vibrating!

Hi,

When I speed up my max to more than 65mile/h, I can feel the steering wheel a little vibrating.
Any suggestion on this case?
Is it necessary to make a balance or alignment?

Thank you very much.

Mine does the same thing at 70+. I attribute mine to just a loose and worn front end. I just had new tires mounted and balanced and an alignment, and it still does it just like before. I'm thinking of going in there and replacing all the worn bushing and crap that are showing 130k+ right now. I'm guessing that would fix it but I'm too lazy.

through my experience of vibrating and seeing other's issues with vibrating, i've come to a few conclusions:

loose wheel (should vibrate from the start)
bubble in tire
unbalanced tires

I just had that problem last week. It started after I rotated the tires (the ones that were in the front are now at the back and viecersa).

The problem was that the rims that were on the back before were pretty much bent. I put the rims again like they were before the vibrating started and the vibration is gone. Seems my front wheels aren't bent but the rear ones are.

Don't just think that it could be tire issues. I had the same problem with my 300zx (when i had it). It turned out to be warped rotors. You might want to check that if your tires seem fine.

This is such an old issue that never dies! Here is the solution:

GET USED TO IT... Nothing you or anyone else will improve this condition inherent to the Maxima. NOTHING! No one on this board has ever come back with an ultimate solution. They too had to get used to it.

However, there is one way to correct this condition...by another vehicle with a more stable suspension. There are many out there! My wife's 2000 Mazda Millenia is solid as a rock (at all speeds)!

I am not trying to bash the Maxima though. I love my Maxima, despite the suttle shake in the steering. My wife's car can't even come close to the Maxima's performance, liquid smooth engine and transmission.

Just get used to it...or loose it.

My advice would also be: Get used to it.
Mine does it at a certain speed, but they stops if you speed up or slow down some. Because of that, I just figure that it is not worth it to try to get it perfect. It might just be the tires. Plus, like stated above, nobody every gets this perfect with some tires. Sometimes, the tires have enough wobble that you cannot ever get they perfectly smooth.

Also, I don't think it is a problem with warped rotors. That would only show up when you pressed on the brakes.

Yea, just deal with it until its time for new tires, i recently got a used mint set of tires and they were perfectly even. I'm boosted and have floored it up to 140 and my ride is too smooth. Tires make a big difference in ride quality. I had warped rotors too, they dont mean much if anything for ride smoothness.

you dont need to "get used to it" all my stearing wheel vibrations went away when i got new tires and balenced. all the virbations are gone.

I just had my front axles replaced and my vibration has dissapeared for the most part. I think I need an alignment though.
