where is the EVAP canister control valve?

where is the EVAP canister control valve?
im supposed to be looking for a black box behind my driver side rear wheel... but i dont see anything. should i take the wheel off? jack the car up? where is this thing!?
oh and if im to start ripping apart the panelling back there, whats the proper way to do it? i just bought new fasteners at nissan, and they charged me like 2 bucks... what a rip...
