Making Climate Control Display White
I have a 99 with automatic climate control. I recently did the white clock display mod (take it apart and put red cellophane over the LCD) and want to make my climate control display match. Has anyone done this?
I tried today. I started taking stuff apart today and it's much more of a pain than the clock mod. You have to take off the shifter console cover, the ashtray, and the top section with the clock and vents before you can even access the screws that hold the audio/CC part in. Then it swivels out but it's a pain to get at the climate control part. I was hoping to take the LCD out and bring it inside to work on so I could tape the cellophane on carefully but it's looking like that wouldn't be worth the trouble. So this weekend I'm going to try to apply the cellophane while the CC unit is still attached and then reassemble. It will look so much better than the @$$-ugly stock green...
