Idle drop problem??

Hey guys, here's my problem: I added a cone filter (with MAF adapter) everything worked fine. Then I added a midpipe kit and here's where my problem started.... everything runs smoothly until the car comes to idle, it drops to about 900rpm, then drops to 750rpm and idles fine for about 30 seconds or so then drops again to about 550rpm and idles fairly rough. This only happened once the midpipe was added so i know it's that, (when I elimate the midpipe the problem goes away) I'm thinking it's one of two things. (1) vacuum leak? or (2) not enough air in the midpipe chamber? A lot of people must have this set up. Has any one run across this trouble. Could I just simply increase the idle or ??? thanks for any tips.
