questions about clear taillights

I know that some places sell these clear taillights for 97 SE's but I have also heard through some forums that it could be a do-it-yourself type mod, with paint? curious to know if anyone has tried this and how it came out...i mean, who doesnt mind saving money, right? please get back to me with any info on clear taillights that anyone has...appreciated....also i have SE rims for sale off my 97 in the parts forum, along with a cd/tape radio from the 97 as well...TY for feedback
