What Short throw do you use?

I was wondering which Short throw shifters members are using. I would like to know what people like and dont like about their shifter. Is there one better then another? Pros, and Cons please.

thanks

Even though this has been talked about many times before, here is my .02...

I have the B&M
The only thing I don't like is the throw is a little further forward. A couple of other Maxima buddies in DNE have now gotten B&Ms and they both love them. The shorter throws require a learning curve before you accurately know you are shifting correctly. I believe that is with any shifter though.

Adjustable Pacesetter....does the same thing that MrEous said, moves the throw forward. I love the shifts, its set for the shortest possible shift.

The shortest shift possible....now doesn't that take alot more effort to throw around too? I'm sure it takes a little more effort, but is it something that bothers anyone or does it still row real nicely?

Has anyone tried bending the stick on the B&M (before installing) or would that be difficult/stupid?

b&m dan, we discussed this on saturday. the only gripe, which is slight, would be shifting into fifth, its a bit awkward sometimes, but as i said before, it's rare that i'll shift hard into fifth. just my two cents, whatever ya get though, just let me know and we can slap that baby in there no problem. later man.

When I did my 5spd Conversion I added a B&M to my setup: Fidanza, ACT, Redline MT-90, and I love every bit of it. The shifts continue to get smoother.

For the B&M sts, do you have to dent out the heatshield?

I think that you have to do that with ever short shifter except Stillen. or at least i didn't (haven't had any problems either).

The stillen STS is immaculate. I love feel of this STS. Especially the shortness of the throw. It kills the B&M...i know that stillen's STS has a shorter throw than stock (60%). It's a little notchy but if you buy some Redline 90 MT fluid it goes away.

you don't have to dent the heat shield on the b&m either...she was a perfect fit for me.

Cool...I hope the same is true for a '99 because my B&M is in the mail.

BTW, HOLLA, another Wisconsin Orger. Looks like you might as well be a Minnesotan living where you do, but that's cool. Nice ride. Let us know next time you're near Madison.
