Looking for advice

I used to own a 99 Maxima SE Limited. Sadly 7 weeks after I bought it I was rear ended and the car was totalled. Economic circumstance have prevented me from replacing that car with another Maxima until now. I have the opportunity to buy a 98 Maxima with 69K miles for $7500. I have had my mechanic check it out and he says other than some standard maintenance items it is in good shape. Would anyone here have any qualms about making this purchase?

Also assuming I do, I'm not going to make many mods but I do want to get a higher performance air filter. I'm just trying to determine what is the best (K&N, Green, Accel Cool Blue, etc.). Any opinions appreciated.

Thanks.

Sounds like a good deal. Check to see if it's Fed or California spec (you want Fed). See the 4th gen forum FAQs to find out how to determine this.
