ACT Stage 1 (HDMM) clutch pedal stiffness question

My ACT just got done with its break in period. How stiff is the pedal supposed to feel? About the first 1/4 of the way down, the pedal is super easy(easier than stock) to push down, then it starts to stiffen up like I thought the ACT should be.

Is this normal for the ACT clutch? Or should the level of force used to push the clutch pedal down be consistant the entire way?

That is normal. The first 1/4 is the distance it takes for the throwout bearing to hit the pressure plate. Mine is the exact same way.

when you are shifting do you start pressing on the gas when the clutch pedal is fully engaged (all the way up) or when it hits that easy 1/4 part?

the reason i ask is because when i shift i notice some chatter, but if im cruising along at about 30mph in 2nd gear and punch it, the car takes off, no slippage or chatter.... I was just wondering if I need to fully engage the clutch before i hit the gas again

or maybe the chatter will go away

thanks

it chatters when you are shifting of when you are taking off? The only time you should get any chatter is when you are taking off without giving it enough gas or trying to downshift.

shifting only, not taking off. Maybe its not chatter im thinking of then. But I shift, the car seems to not hook up right away, like it hesitates a little. Feels just like chatter, except the car keeps accelerating..kinda like this

<SHIFT>VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

that illustration probably just confused you, hopefully you understand what i mean.
