stp fuel treatment
does anyone use the STP products? i saw all the "every time" use ones in the store and dont want those. but there are the more expensive bottles that say to use every 4,000 miles for clean fuel injectors. do they really work?

SEAFOAM!!!!!!!!!!
ive tried damn near every fuel additive out there and the only one that blew me away is seafoam. after pouring it in the tank and oil crank case, the car was like butter. i felt a good difference and i thought it might have been all in my head. i put it in my dads old beater (89 chevy celebrity) and i felt even more of a difference in his. this is the only stuff id actually promote others to try out. i dont like stp, every time i use it for some reason my CEL comes on and i get 0706, rear 02 sensor. add an U an I and a D, and STP spells STUPID

Actually, I use the Stp Red bottle. I don't use it every fill up though. It helps remove water and keep the injectors clean. I use it mainly in the winter-water prevention. But I also use it when the idle hunts up and down a bit. I used to be skeptical of fuel additives-but I tried the STP red bottle because it was cheap, and our old cars had rough idles. The idles smoothed out rapidly after using the stuff-I know it sounds hard to believe-then again, that was on older cars. There has been articles in magazines about the need for fuel additives to reduce deposits on intake valves, which BMW had trouble with and told it's mechanics to use/recommend. I've tried the more expensive stp 4K miles stuff, as well as chevron techron-but honestly didn't notice that much difference-then again, I've tried the more expensive additives on our better cars that actually were running smoothly before...
