the 4th gens have 190hp and the 5th gens have 222 hp and the anniversary edition has 227 hp with the same engine

what did they change from the 4th gen to the 5th gen and then from 5th gen to the 20th anniversary

just a bit curious
thanx!

Intake manifold and dualstage exhaust muffler.

Plus redesigned exhaust manifolds and probably a different ECU program.

You should keep in mind that not only was the engine enhanced, but the body got bigger too. Some 200-300 lbs bigger in the 5th Gen. The 5th gen has a 2-3 inch longer wheelbase and Nissan used that to give the 5th gen a much bigger back seat than the 4th gen. Because the 5th gen got a better engine AND a bigger body, the increase in power is not felt as much as you would think. Put a 5th gen engine in a 4th gen body and you'll see some really nice numbers

I actually think Nissan is playing with HP numbers. Being that the manufactured horsepower is 190 and 222, I'd be willing to be that when strapped to a dyno the difference in horsepower is not equal to 32 flywheel horsepower. Those numbers don't mean all that much, they're estimations in fact. Because 32 HP will more than over come 200-300 pounds.
