Stop the auto climate and radio display from dimming when lights on?

I know that for the clock, all I had to do was simply snip one wire.I am looking at the Haynes manual wiring schematics and It's difficult to decipher which wire would have to be cut. Anyone know which wires I would have to cut in order to stop the Auto Climate display and Radio display from dimming when I turn the lights on?

BTW: I've owned my Max for over a year and just noticed that it did this about a week ago

for my car, there's a turn/dial thing to the right of the steering column. Turn it to the right, which will increase the brightness of your dash lights. Then click it 1 more notch, and everything's bright. Try that, if you have it.

is one of the prongs on the back of the auto ac contol for the dimmer? maybe someone knows? i can't test because my volt meter died and i wouldn't be sure that, the one i cut, doesn't do something else as well as dim. the fsm was no help...or i just didn't find it.

Well, there is a difference, but not everyone can understand.

Have you looked in EL? That'll tell you.

I don't have the FSMs handy, but it's going to be listed in two places; EL-ILL (follow all of the illumination leads) and the EL section that covers the auto climate control. Just got to look at all of the wires on all of the connectors.

i've got the pdf fsm but i don't want to eliminate the dimming of the buttons, just the lcd screen. that's not covered in the fsm though.
