Hey, I was wondering if it is possible to change a 95-96 Maxima taillights to the 97-99 Maxima taillight style? Will 97-99 taillights fit my 1996 Maxima SE? I've seen 95-96 clear taillights on a 97-99 Maxima (and it looks kinda off), but i just wanted to know if it's possible.

I am aware I would probably have to re-wire the top and bottom bulbs in order to do this, (since the brake lights would have to be switched from the bottom lense to the top lense). Has anyone ever considered doing this? It's just a thought. Thanks guys!

It would require body work and is probably more trouble than it is worth. . . 95-96 have a bump in the trunk, and so you would have to flatten it out if you wanted the 97+ tails. . . At least that is what I was told.
