Dynomax Muffler

im not trying to make this into a huge thread, but I saw some dynomax turbo mufflers at advanced auto parts the other day, and i was interested in which ones people picked up for their Maximas? Did you guys who have em get the universal one, or one specific for the Max? I'm gonna just do a custom exhaust with 2.5 pipe from the catback to the muffler, and I'm interested in the dynomax muffler. Also, with these, does it produce the low grumble, and mean sound at WOT? I dont ever want to hear a rice can on my car, so im really aiming to avoid that. Let me know, thanks.

That is the muffler I am going with. No rice @ all. You will be very pleased. Very nice low grumble. Download some clips of the muffler on different cars @ http://www.dynomax.com/sounds.stm Enjoy!

Thats the muffler I have. Awesome sounding. Aslong as you get a resonator with your exhaust, it will sound mean. It has a very nice rumble at idle and around 2-3k rpm.

so i should get a resonator? on my last max, 96 gle, i had the resonator straight piped, and had a magnaflow muffler, and got the sound i was looking for. with this, i want a little more grumble, so im just going 2.5 pipe from the cat to the muffler. how you think that will sound?

Get a resonator, it makes it sound much better and doesnt take away any of the rumble. Im using a 16" resonator. If you dont have a ypipe you should be fine w/o one, but if you have a ypipe or plan on getting one, get a resonator for sure.

i got a dynomax muffler put in yesterday and left my original piping in for the time being. i am getting a budget b-pipe soon. car sounds awsome as of right now, nice deep tone that fades off at around 4k RPMS. i like that, i h8 hearing those ricey cars that are excessively loud even at 6-8K rpms. the dynomax is nice and deep and perfect for what i was looking for. i have a nice 3.5 tip that is similar to the tips on custommaxima.com dual exhaust.(xcept i only have 1 tip) looks very clean, i will update my cardomain soon

Anyone have a clip of this muffler with a Y and resonated B pipe or any experience with such a setup?

yeah, i checked out the borla site for their mufflers too. I'm just checking out my options. I ran across the dynomax mufflers at adv. auto parts the other day, and just thought i'd ask about them, and see whats up. i wont be doing anything with the muffler/exhaust for 1.5 months or so because im getting my y pipe next. im a working h.s. student, so i gotta spend my money accordingly.

Anyone have a sound clip for this muffler? I have been looking and I came up with nothing. I have heard a lot of good things about it so Ill probably get a custom 2.5 resonated catback with the Dynomax muffler done.

Is the dynomax better at covering up the rice sound of the y pipe than the Magnaflow muffler?
