New Tail-Lights?

OK. the ebay subject heading says generation 3. I do a "generation 3" search and found a couple of threads showing a different looking tail light from the one in this eBay auction.

Anyone used these before?

those aren't for 95/96's as stated. they don't even look like they'd fit any maxima, maybe 3rd gens?

don't bother bidding or considering them. look at the shape, gen 3's don't exist, and gen 2's only work for 97-99s. paint your stock ones red or tint them, or buy altezzas and paint them body color if you're looking for a change.

They are definitely not for 3rd gen. maximas. 3rd gen. maximas have light that goes across the whole trunk, i used to have a 3rd gen. max.I never seen those taillights before.I would like to see how they look on a maxima. It would be cool to do a led mod on them.

I e-mailed the guy selling them.. said he posted the wrong picture, claiming that was a picture of 97-99's.... WRONG!~, sent me a pic of the "correct ones" and they were reg carbon altezza's and still 97-99's. Can't imagine what you would actually receive if you did order them!#@$@%!~

Even if they would fit in a Maxima, they are ugly.

That link isn't working for me.

Just what is the "standard" rear corner light pattern? I have a 95 with yellow lenses on top and red on the bottom. I need to replace one side and bought one off of Ebay. Much to my surprise the color scheme was reversed. My friendly local Nissan dealer parts manager said that my colors were the correct one, and the replacement was not for a US spec car. I've been looking on Ebay for another replacement and all I've been able to find are the same as the previous replacement (not the correct one). Anyone have any info about this?

BTW, my car has over 140K miles on it so I'm not really inclined to upgrade it. I'd just like to get the "correct" lights!

95-96 has reverse/turn signal (orange) on top and red (brake light) on the bottom... the 97-99 models had that flipped... looks like you got a 97-99 tail light assy. off Ebay..

Drew..your best bet is to post a WTB posting in the 4th Gen forsale forum or try calling a few junk yards.

Might try www.car-part.com too. Use the Non-Interchange Search to specify 1995-1996.

Thanks NJ and JP. I was a bit perplexed by the lights. As a wrote before, the friendly Nissan dealer (Pacific Nissan in San Diego) wasn't much help.
