I just came into a large sum of money that I MUST invest in the Maxima. It's a long story... I was wondering if anybody could give me prices (including installation of how much each of these upgrades would run)

ECU Upgrade
CAI (brand?)
Exhaust (brand?)
Y-Pipe

Anything else I should consider for moderate upgrades? I will not go the s/c route. Any price info and estimates are appreciate. Thanks in advance.

How about upgrading your tranny to give you a peace of mind that it'll last longer...probably will also subtract 1-3 tenths of a second off the quarter mile according to some people here on this board.

What is involved in upgrading the tranny. I want to eventually run some nitrous through so I know that the tranny upgrade is an important aspect of my upgrades...

Don'v VB mod: $450
Y-pipe: $260-450
Exhaust or catback: $100-650
Underdrive pulley: $150
CAI or Cone intake $80-100
Do all those and you should be in the high 14's

Don's VB mod involve swapping out your old valve body with his...involves dropping the transmission pan and a bunch of other nuts. I've also heard of people doing a Level 10 tranny upgrade which I don't think is a bolt on mod. I haven't done either of 2 but are very much interested in the third method which is purchasing the TransGo transmission valve body kit at http://www.txchange.com/transgo.htm costing only ~$50, a much much less expensive alternative than the previous two and is a DIY job. Others on this board can speak more if it from their own experience.

Power:
Y-Pipe - $305(Warpspeed) $330(stillen) $415(Cattman)
Place Racing CAI - around $200
Underdrive Pulley - Under $200
RT Cat - Under $200
VB Mod - $450 (but I'm not sure if Don is doing them yet)

Suspension:
FSTB - $40-$180
RSB - $120-$230
Springs - $200(H&R or Eibach) $130(sprint)
Struts - $440(Koni) $360(Tokico)

All the price are general price ranges
If I was you, I'd get the Y-pipe, CAI, FSTB, and RSB first. And then do whatever else you want afterward.
