im going to be putting racing seats in my maxima... but before I do, I was wondering if anyone has pictures or info about the fitment... there are few on ebay that say fit in the maxima, but look like it would sit pretty low compared to the stock seats.....Does anyone know if the universal sliders and brackets fit in a maxima with little or no modification??? and if you have them in your car, post pics, please!!

 

The universal sliders require you to drill 4 holes into each side of your floorboard. If you are willing to do this, they will work perfectly. If you are not, you need to either fabricate brackets on your own, buy them from Wedge Engineering, or Corbeau. If you buy cheap eBay seats, I doubt Wedge will have the seat to make a template out of, so you will have to buy the Corbeau brackets ($80 a piece) and modify them (easy drilling). I have some R1 Racing seats, you can see them on my homepage. They do sit lower than stock (which is fine for me since I'm a tall guy), but they keep you in your place like no other!

my plan for my seats is to get some oe seats from the junkyard and take them along w/my racing seats to the machine shop and have them fabricate me some custom brackets for the seats to bolt right in and also use my oe seats belt...I'll let ya know how it all goes.....

 

Honestly the car doesn't take distance trips so I don't know. However I can drive 40 minutes with no problems whatsoever.

what did you do about the seat belt, seeing that its bolted to the stock seat?

 

good point, i forgot that the seat belt was attatched to the seat...how do you make that work too?

 

I orderd some seats and they should be coming in soon.

Im gona see what i can do with the universal brackets and see if i can combine them with the stock seat brackets.

Check my homepage. If you don't wanna drill the holes you can adapt most seats to the stock rail. Thats what I did and now have a power racing seat and love it. Comfort is incredible on long distance trips. I thought it would be bad but actually turns out to be better than stock but mine is a bucket.

and i think you should go with option 1 cause 1400 for seats is just way to much.

 

Its not that bad dude. Just Frakenstein the **** our of the stock rail. I got the bucket used and it had some universal brackets on it that I adapted to the rail using SS grad 8 bolts and a bunch of washers. Just work with it. Very hard to explain because most of it is eyeball work. I didn't measure much at all except that the front and back of the bracket were the same distance apart. It doesn't matter if you have to narrow/squeeze down the stock rail because the tourque is transfered via the teleforce cable.
