tune up with relation to performance

a while back i had my car dynoed and i had some very poor #'s considering i had a y pipe and a jwt intake. i had a thread going to see if anyone could have maybe help with a reason why... this is the thread on that.
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=305422

that was about 2000 miles ago, well i am quicky approaching the big 100k on my 99 and i was going to have a tune up done next week. since i know the previous ownder did not have the 90k service done although he did have the 60k done at nissan. my questions is should i hope to regain any performance i am guess the spark plugs in there are the original NGKS that came with the car from japan. according to my mechanic, a former nissan mechanic rearly do they change the platinum plugs at 60K. they didn't one my dads 2000 altima. so figure the plugs have 100k on them, the fuel filter anoth 40k , the intake is almost brand new and i just had the B&G induction cleaning done at nissan. should i hope for my performance to pick up after the tune up. i also purchased a NEW nissan Knock Sensor which i am going ot have installed at the same time. i have owned the car for about 7000 miles and i only use 93 gas dispite the $2.30 price i paid today and i only use full synthetic oil. could bad plugs and a old fuel filter be hurting performance sooo bad. i am hoping this tune up will bring back some of the juice. my car isn't slow but i know it could be faster. what do you guys think.... i wanna get an exhaust but i am not going to spend the $$ if the car isn't going to benifit from it because something else is wrong

If your a do it yourselfer at all, you might want to consider doing some at least yourself instead of having the dealer do it. I've done the fuel filter, the knock sensor and the plugs, and if I can do it you can do it . I did notice a change when I did the plugs (it might have all been in my head though). Have you checked for the knock sensor code or just changing it in case? If it is bad you will notice a big difference once that is fixed. Oh yeah, you might want to clean your TB while your at it (can't hurt and it's another easy one).

Lot of people have noticed a significant gain in performance with higher milage cars when..

1) changing plugs NGK plats or Coppers
2) Quality Air filter
3) Quality Fuel Filter
4) Knock Sensor Get them on ebay for 99.99 (look hard)
5) Some even changed their O2's

find your intake, follow it to the TB, then look to the left under the intake runners. You'll be able to see the knock senor with the wire harness coming towards you, it sits right ontop of the motor, under the intake runners. It's in the middle of the "V" (hence V6) 3 cyl on either side.
