1995 maxima cold air intake or short ram??

Hey i own a 1995 Maxima SE. Ive been thinking about messin with the air intake. Ive heard different stories from random people who also owns 4th generation max's. FOR EVERYONE who reads this, PLEASE assist me in picking either the cold air intake or a short ram?. Which one is better/produces more power..etc..etc. I was looking at the setup today in the engine and it looks like to put in a cold air intake-- alot of stuff would have to get taken out.. like radiator etc. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ANYONE.. Give me your opinions on either a cold air intake or... just a short ram?!.. I know injen makes one for 1995 max... p.s..if anyone recommeds a cold air, would i also have to get a bypass valve?.. i know injen does not make one- but ive heard that you wont need a bypass valve for a cold air in our cars....??! HELP!

Intakes don't provide enough HP for you to feel a difference. I've had a Frankencar intake and now I have an Injen CAI. The only difference besides location is the sound. The Injen is quieter (possibly because the filter is located in front of the engine). But nonetheless, you won't need a bypass valve or anything like that. The CAI's tend to be a bit more expensive than the others. But it's pretty much comes down to what you want to see when you pop the hood.

you don't need to remove the rad to put a CAI on, just have to drill a 3" hole in the inner fender. I have a short ram intake, and i'm somewhat pleased with it. not very noticeable gains though, but sounds awesome. mainly, any gains were in high end, a CAI would give you low end. that's the one thing that i'm not pleased with is the loss of low end that i got. pretty much up to you though. seems like alot of work to put in a CAI, and it depends on where you want your power at, up high or down low...

Injen intakes don't require a hole, as it goes in the open space between the battery and engine. Whereas a PR CAI goes behind/underneath the battery tray.

For an Injen CAI you'll need to remove a black piece that serves no function which is located underneath the battery tray.

I have a short ram intake I bought a while ago, I there is a substantial gain, from just stock. Of course the gain is 3500 RPM or more....but the power feels awesome. Short Ram or CAI .... would kick ***! For another note, the hole for the CAI isn't that difficult to get to let alone drill....takes about an hour if you know what you are doing. And it is worth it. Because I mean...who goes stock anymore?
