How do i remove the dash panel to access my stereo

Hey guys/gals , im installing a new headunit in my car and ive looked at the stereo and it looks fairly impossible to unscrew it without removing my entire dash, please tell me its easier then that, thanks for any help you can offer

Aha! I know this one. I just put a new head unit in my 1995 GXE maxima. You have to pry off the plastic on the dash where the defrost and hazard button is. Put a flathead scredrived on the bottom right corner of this piece and slowly pry it up. Then you have to unscrew the entire climate control system. The you remove the shifter cover and remove the ashtray to get to the bottom bolts. It sounds worse than it is. It took me about 30 minutes to get it all undone. Then you have to unscrew the stock head unit without stripping the screws (this is the hard part).

Rather than listen to me babble log onto www.installdr.com for instructions with pics. It's not that bad-good luck.

All you have to do is remove everything above and below the compartment. It sounds hard but rather easy, just take your time not to strip screws or break any clips. Once you have access to the frame, it's no problem. Good luck!
