Hey guys,
I have the ability to buy 4 brand new mint Nissan Murano 18” rims…the guy is asking $200. Is this a fair price? (He’s a friend of a friend of my brother in law) Anyway…all the information I’ve found so far says these will fit on my '97 Max! I’m very, very interested in them, but am worried they won’t look right(backspacing difference?), or won’t fit. Does anyone know if these will work? Does anyone have these on their Max?

They appear to be the same specs as my rims, except they’re .5” wider. Here’s the specs on them:

Murano '03 18x7.5, 5 lug, 4.5" lug pattern

A couple concerns I have are:

1) Being a wider rim…are these going to rub when turning?

2) What size tires would I have to get so the speedometer stays the same?

3) I’d be going from the 16” stocks, to these 18’s…will my performance suffer?

4) Will my gas mileage? (I have a decent drive to work and gas will only get more expensive it seems)

5) Lastly, since these are for a “truck”, or “SUV” any ideas on the weight difference between these and my 16’s? I was thinking they’d be heavier, for more durability.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Firstly, $200 is damnnnn cheap. so cheap. 200 for one Rim would be cheap for those....try and goto the nissan dealer and ask for one. If it comes with tires the guy is an idiot, regardless of how he knows u.
I think they will look real ugly on the Max in my opinion, but u might as well buy them and sell them.
You probably will have some issues with the width of the wheel but im not too sure bout that. As far as performance and gas mileage...they both will go down. I have a 97 SE and i had the stock 16's and now i have 18's that are actually lighter than my stocks. But due to physics, the larger circumference gives the car more to turn, lowering the torque, and of course with the car working a little more you lose gas too. But get a y-pipe like I just did. I recommend the Warpspeed. Budget is same stuff, but why get something called Budget...and with the Stillen pipe...the price is too ridiculous and not worth it.
Back to the wheels...buy them and sell them...dont waste your time putting those on your car, or even 2004 18" Max wheels IMO. But then again, who the hell is going to buy Morano wheels from you...maybe you should try someone with a Nissan Quest.....

nah, just get the right tires

2) What size tires would I have to get so the speedometer stays the same?
not sure but as long as you get the right ones you won't have a problem with the above, because it keeps the diameter of the wheel+tire the same

3) I’d be going from the 16” stocks, to these 18’s…will my performance suffer?
if you mean your acceleration, yes. handling will be better, though.

4) Will my gas mileage? (I have a decent drive to work and gas will only get more expensive it seems)
yes, but probably not that noticeably.

5) Lastly, since these are for a “truck”, or “SUV” any ideas on the weight difference between these and my 16’s? I was thinking they’d be heavier, for more durability.
well they'll definitely be heavier because they are bigger.

BTW i actually think this might look pretty good.

Check in the wheels/tires forums and you should be able to get a better response.

they should fit fine...getting the right tire will be the issue...but you can run 235/45/17s...don't know which particular murano rims you're talking about...but I was thinking of putting a set on my max. They will fit.

Thanks guys for your help!

These are the rims...They're not my favorite, but $200 for 18's...not bad!
Tires aren't included.

Its not such a good deal.
After you buy tires, depending on the brand... lets say 200.00 a piece thats 800.00 plus the 200. for the wheels plus mounting and balancing your going to be at a "G"

You say their not your favorites, why waste that type of money when you have more of a choice for around 899-1000 here... http://www.wheelmax.com/Specials/specials.html
