TEIN BASIC Coilover Kit vs. S-Tech w/Illumina
So now there's a GD on the new TEIN BASIC Coilover Kit being released for 4th gens. Any advantage of this setup vs. S-Tech and Illuminas? I know it's hard to make a decision on a product that hasn't been release yet, so I'm talking somewhat hypetheically here. One thing I don't like about this coilover is that there are no dampening adjustments, but on the other hand some have blown their aftermarket struts with a drop as low as S-Tech's.
I don't see myself changing the car's ride hight once it's installed, but I don't like the thought of possibly needing to change my struts more often because of the low drop.
Also, the spring rate on the coilover kit is much stiffer than the S-techs, so I assume performance isn't comprimised too much with respect to the lack of dampening adjustability.
Any thoughts?

i agree. Tein is a reputable brand and their previous lines of suspension have been very good.

I've always used TEIN in the past on my track cars. They are among the best suspension makers, hands down.
Think about it this way ... with the full kit, the springs are perfectly matched to the struts. You won't have that with the other combination.
You'll lose the dampening adjustability, but 90% of people practice the "set and forget" mentality anyway. With the TEIN kit, you won't have to worry about adjusting from daily use to light track use anyway - it's just that nice.

Just because you're probably going to be dropped pretty low on the S-Tech, I'd opt for the Tien Coilovers. The S Techs really take away from suspension travel, which is what you can gain back with the coilovers which most likely have shorter shock bodies.
