Yeah, I know I'm just like everyone else now, but you know what. You can kiss my *** if you don't like em. Cause I do like em.
I went an extra step and tinted the whole lens on the inside with tint spray. I love the look.

It took more time than I thought. The labor of building the boards themselves was not so bad, but it took forever for a local place to order my resistors. Took them almost 3 months, but it was worth the wait cause I got them for virtually nothing. If I had all the parts, and the time to work on them, they would only take a few days to complete. I'm considering making inserts for those of you who want to just open up your lenses and throw them in, but I'm still giving it much thought. They wouldn't be cheap, but they wouldn't be as much as Arrafio is charging either. It also keeps me from damaging other's lenses accidently. I'll think about it.

PS, Thanks for all the positive feedback guys.

Looks good... just a question: Im pretty sure it's illegal to have tail's that aren't red / have white light... something to that extent ( i don't remember the specifics).
But would it be legal to make a few of the LED's a different color in there? Blue per say (if it were green then you'd have a christmas theme going on ...)
Just a thought.. some may call it rice.. i'd call it unique
.. either way i was just wondering on the legallity of the above thought...
if someone wants to try it.. send me pics first cause i thought of it. (oh and lemme get some credit)
- replies needed.

As for my tails, I did some research before doing them the way I did. To put a cover or tint the outside of the lens, that would be illegal. BUT.... If you tint the inside of the lens, it is still legal here in TX. The reason is that the law says you can not have any cover over the tail lights that obstructs the clear view of the tail light. The law also says that there have to be 2 red reflectors, one on each side of the vehicle, that reflect a red color at night. If you tint the outside of the lens, it would be a dark dark red that reflected. My way, the lens still reflects red as it did the day I bought the car because there is no film in between the reflector and the light source. Also, there is no visible cover, so if I get pulled over, I'm not getting a ticket for that.

d_warner also pointed out that the reflectors must be red and only red. To obstruct that with different color lights is asking for trouble.

blah its 4:40 am ... maybe ill draw out what i mean in photoshop later...

That would be possible. I made LED flashing modules for my patrol car with the left over LEDs that I had. I must say that those absolutely rock as well. If you wanted, you could hook a similar flasher like the Able 2 LED strobe style flasher up to a seperate set of LEDs in the tail lights that would flash and look kinda like these guys who put strobes in their headlights. It's just not my style. I tell you what. I just located white LEDs at a pretty cheap price, and I will be re-doing my back up lights. I will hook a flasher up to them just to make you happy. It will be a while though, so be patient.
