Exhaust fitment issues makin me mad

I recently added a warpspeed y pipe to my 95 maxima SE. Installation went smooth and I was pleased with performance, sound, etc...
So last week I ordered a Greddy SP2 with Magnaflow freeflow catalytic converter. I had the package delivered to my job because I work 6 days/wk. By the way, NOPI has good prices.
Anyways, I go home at about 11:30 pm a few days ago excited because I got my exhaust parts a little sooner than I had expected. I get right to work on the removal of the old system. I must have gotten it off in about 15 minutes. When I took the old one off I was comparing it to the new catback and the cat. The new cat measured 16.4" and the stock one was 12". Hmmmm, maybe the extra space was compensated for in the catback tubing via different shape or routing pattern. NOPE!
Sure enough when I install the muffler and b pipe, the empty space where the cat. converter was supposed to go was exactly 12". I had to temporarily throw in my old rusty cat because the new one was too long. Anybody have this problem? Anybody have bad experiences with NOPI? One more issue...the hole for the O2 sensor in the b pipe right behind the cat is big like one of the O2 sensors toward the front of the car. I cant screw in the sensor cause the hole is almost double the size of what it should be. Both boxes and all paperwork for the parts say 1995 maxima. Whats going on????????????

Obviously they packaged stuff wrong. I got once cv axle with ABS in a non-ABS packaging, so had to get back to swap it. I guess that's what happened to you, they shipped you wrong stuff...

damn maximabebe that must suck. Give nopi a call/email and go down step by step of what should be packaged. If wrong things were sent, fight for an exchange.

good luck!

I got the Flowmaster dual exhaust last week too, and they shipped me the wrong b-pipe. The one that came with it was the one without the O2 sensor. I just drilled a hole, welded the bolt piece there and screwed in the O2. The exhaust works nice except that every time i hit a little hole or speed bump, i hear something hitting the bottom of the car. Havent had time to put the car on a lift. If anyone had installed this, heads up please.

95-96 rear O2 sensors are in the cat, 97-99 rear O2s are in the b pipe or s pipe. Some how you got a 97-99 b pipe. There is no other difference then the O2 bung. Your cat had an O2 bung in it so use it, and then plug the one in the b pipe. They obviously gave you the wrong cat so send it back and use your stock cat. Its a better cat anyway.

Exactly! Thats what I temporarily did....I say temporarily, but it may be a permenant move. I threw the O2 sensor back in the rusty
Nissan cat and I have this God-awful 3" carriage bolt thing hanging out of my b-pipe. LOL Looks silly but the exhaust purrrrrrrrrrrrs like a horny cat.(not that i would know). Anyways, when I get a day off from work I am going to try to find something to better the appearance of the bolt....perhaps one of those metal plugs used for plumbing with the square head?? I'll figure it out; I'm a crafty lad. Thanks guys! Now all I need to do is get my cat refunded and also remember to never call NOPI again.

Is there a reason why you ordered a high flow cat?

Actually yes Big D...I had a merchandise credit that valued 2 dollars more than the price of the cat.

I just think you should've spent it on something that actually makes the car work better, something useful. Either way, good luck with everything.
