I have a 5spd 97 max se with 90k miles.when i'm in second at about 2500rpms and i take my foot off the gas,its starts bouncing and jerking back and fourth.Also,when i'm accelerating quick and i hit 3rd gear,it kinda pulls backwards then takes off after about 2 seconds of hesitation.whats wrong with it?? someone please let me know.


also when i go round croners at about 20mph or more,i get a scraping sound from the back end?

 

Since its jerking "after" you let off the gas, I'd almost call it a stuck injector, but it could also be a few other things like an ignition coil, knock sensor, or sticking throttle body.

 

anyway I could find out without paying a mechanic or changing all those things to figure out which one it is?
