Does anyone know which type of intake is better for a 95 maxima? A short ram intake or a cold air intake?

I would get a cai, because the Ram gets hot air from the fan behind the radiator.

All you flamers shouldn't have even opened this thread if you knew what it was all about. Why waste your time bichin about it? Seriously.
One more thing, the faq's do explain a lot, but they don't have any numbers to explain which is actually better.....so it all opinion.

^ Once again you know not what you speak of. The hybrid gets air from EVERYWHERE under the hood. Thing is that's only bad during the summer, when the temps are below 70 it's all the same. They are both EQUAL intakes. CAI for low end and hybrid for top end.

I'd go with a Sunfire or Cavalier.

If you read the original thread it was RAM vs CAI, not the short pipe hybrid. Smart guyOriginally Posted by Big D

ram air is for high end power. cai is for low end power. hybrid is for mid-range power. i think thats how it goes. this thread is getting all weird...

Hybrid and short ram are basically the same arent't they.
I though ram was up at front trying to get flowing air from the moving vehicle.
So how is the franken car RAM?
What do the letters ram stand for anyway?
Rapid air movement?

? Cuz I found an injen intake that is behind the bumper (front mount?)
Okay, let's just end of this "CAI = lowend", "hybrid=midrange", etc , etc. For us that go to the track on a regular basis and analyze the numbers, a CAI vs POP/hybrid setup will perform the same assuming good weather conditions (60s, low humidity) and a cooled motor. I get 14.4s@98mph with my CAI just as I do with my hybrid intake so there's no lowend/topend differential. The only difference is the hybrid is snortier and quite a bit more laggy in the lower rpms compared to the CAI. On hot days there's no comparision, the CAI wins hands down.
The only thing special about the hybrid over the POP intake is that the hybrid puts a straight pipe in place of the resonator that sits between the throttle body and MAF. The gains from this "midpipe" are probably minimal however the increased induction sound leads people to believe their car is a lot quicker.
