all peepz in WI and muffler question??

ok first off i just wanted to know who is all from wisconsin with a Max? i myself live in Appleton but travel from here about 130miles south to burlington/uniongrove ALOT so if anyone is in the route around highway 41,45,I-94 or anything maybe we could meet up i know alot of people go to highway 100 in milwaukee but i dont go around there too much cop trouble, anyway for the muffler question, i have a 3 1/2" generic muffler im making into a catback at my local muffler shop and i was wondering if any of you had experiance with silencers and if they actually work, i really dont wanna be that loud when in city cause eeryone round here gets pulled over so i want to know if it actually works but then again i want it wide open and decent sound when at the strip in da grove, so if anyone has had a silencer type muffler and has experiance i would greatly appreciate any info on em

Yes, silencers do work. I've done a similar thing with my exhaust. I have to be breif cause class is over. Check the upper midwest forum. Here's the thread about Madison. Its kinda long but there's a bunch of people in the area. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=262027

I am out here in WI. And yes alot of people who live in southwestern WI do go to Hyw 100. Its the only place to really go and see stuff you normally wouldnt without actually going to a meet. Yes the cop **** is bad on some days, Ive seen some poeple get pulled over and then have to get all thier stuff out of the car and then watch as the city towed it away. But the last couple weeks hasent been that bad.

As for your exhaust, dont take this as a flame or anything , but I think that muffler being a 3.5 inch, and having a silencer, is going to sound pretty ricy. But the silencers do help quiet things down. Ive only delt with them on Hondas and stuff.

Whoa, I totally thought you meant resonator when you were mentioned a silencer. I thought that because I assumed that nobody would every consider a silencer for a Max. In that case, no silencers do not work because they transform the growl into an even more anoying buzz. I have been hearing a lot about this highway 100 but it seems really dumb to drive there and waste all this expensive gas for only several hours of entertainment and possible tickets.
